The solar plexus chakra, also known as the Manipura chakra, is the third chakra located in the upper abdomen. This chakra is associated with confidence and self power. It is associated with the colour yellow and governs self-esteem, personal power, and ego.

When this chakra is balanced, you feel confident, capable, and in control of your life. An imbalanced solar plexus chakra can manifest as low self-worth, emotional inclination in decision-making, and feelings of anxiety or fear.

This chakra embodies the element of fire. It connects the grounded inner self to the outer world. This ability for strong connection comes from this energy center. This is the center of emotions. The functioning of all the other chakras indirectly depends on this chakra since our body reacts to our emotions.

This chakra is often called the emotional chakra. It is often a very unstable and imbalanced chakra. This chakra responds quickly to the situations in the outside world. It can collect whatever is allowed into it including negativity like criticisms, judgements, stereotyping, etc.

Practice solar plexus meditations and visualizations. Imagine a bright yellow sun filling your abdomen with its warm glow. Repeat empowering mantras like “I am confident and capable.”

2. Colour Therapy

Wear yellow clothing. Place yellow objects around your home and office to energize this chakra.

Eat yellow foods including lemons, pineapple, yellow squash, corn, and bananas. Spices like turmeric, cumin, and ginger also stimulate this chakra.

3. Vastu

According to Vastu – Chakra connection, the SE corner of the house is related to the Manipura Fire element. Having a kitchen in the area is recommended, and de-cluttering the area by removing unused materials will enhance this chakra
